Trophic niche overlap between native freshwater mussels (Order: Unionida) and the invasive <scp> <i>Corbicula fluminea</i> </scp>

چکیده
Freshwater mussels (Order Unionida) are highly threatened. Interspecific competition for food sources with invasive alien species is considered to be one of the factors responsible their decline because successful invaders expected have wider trophic niches and more flexible feeding strategies than native counterparts. In this study, carbon (?13C: 13C/12C) nitrogen (?15N: 15N/14N) stable isotopes were used investigate niche overlap between freshwater mussel species, Anodonta anatina, Potomida littoralis, Unio delphinus, bivalve Corbicula fluminea living in sympatry Tua basin (south-west Europe). The presenting widest C. A. which indicate that they broader diets U. delphinus P. littoralis. Nonetheless, all assimilated microphytobenthos, sediment organic matter, detritus derived from vascular plants, although interspecific variability proportions each source. overlapped extent varying sites according species. From three analysed, littoralis may at a higher risk basin, if become limited, presented narrowest across highest probability overlapping fluminea. Given global widespread distribution fluminea, implementation management measures devoted control or even eradication should conservation priority given its potential threatened mussels.

All - Termination ( SCP )
We recently introduced the All-Termination(T ) problem: given a termination solver T and a function F , find every subset of the formal parameters to F whose consideration is sufficient to show, using T , that F terminates. These subsets can be harnessed by a theorem prover to locate and justify induction schemes, and are also useful for guiding rewriting heuristics and ensuring their terminati...
متن کاملTemperature- and Turbidity-Dependent Competitive Interactions Between Invasive Freshwater Mussels.
We develop a staged-structured population model that describes the competitive dynamics of two functionally similar, congeneric invasive species: zebra mussels and quagga mussels. The model assumes that the population survival rates are functions of temperature and turbidity, and that the two species compete for food. The stability analysis of the model yields conditions on net reproductive rat...
متن کاملImpact of SCP-2/SCP-x gene ablation and dietary cholesterol on hepatic lipid accumulation.
While a high-cholesterol diet induces hepatic steatosis, the role of intracellular sterol carrier protein-2/sterol carrier protein-x (SCP-2/SCP-x) proteins is unknown. We hypothesized that ablating SCP-2/SCP-x [double knockout (DKO)] would impact hepatic lipids (cholesterol and cholesteryl ester), especially in high-cholesterol-fed mice. DKO did not alter food consumption, and body weight (BW) ...
متن کاملSCP in Agriculture and Rural Development
Introduction Achieving more sustainable consumption and production in the agricultural sector requires a coherent response to the intimate linkages between agricultural production, agro-ecosystems and the people who rely on them, and also the concerns and preferences of a growing number of consumers. Less input intensive and more resource efficient agriculture offers a means to strengthen the c...
